AMD tests Fluid Motion Frames for all games based on DirectX 11 and 12

AMD releases an Adrenalin preview that allows the Fluid Motion Frames technology to be used in all games based on DirectX 11 and DirectX 12. Only a few games have been supported so far. Only Radeon RX 7000 and 6000 video cards support this feature.

Users with the Adrenalin Edition Preview driver can test Fluid Motion Frames version 23.30.01.02, which basically runs all DX11 and DX12 games from the can use technology. The setting can be enabled per game with the Hypr-RX switch or using the Fluid Motion setting. So far the feature was only powered by Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum. AFMF is expected to be released as a release version in the first quarter of next year.

AMD Fluid Motion Frames is a new form of frame generation at driver level and is part of the FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 set of functions. The technology generates additional frames based on the movement between two frames. This can be done according to AMD cause extra latency and therefore does not work perfectly for fast games.

In the preview, AFMF is dynamically turned on and off based on the speed of movements. AMD also recommends the use of Anti-Lag+ in combination with the technology.
