Google releases repair guide for Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in France

Google has released a repair guide for the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphone in France. The documents contain instructions in French for disassembling the smartphones, replacing broken parts and reassembling the device.

The repair manual web page is currently only available in France. Internet users from other countries cannot request the page directly unless they use a VPN connection that routes internet traffic through a French server. The direct download links to the repair manuals for the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro can according to 9to5Google can be reached and downloaded by everyone.

Google has also placed a warning on the web page. The company states that users may cause damage to their device during the repair process. The manufacturer of the Pixel smartphones advises that smartphone repairs should only be carried out by professional repair services or people with some background knowledge.

It is no coincidence that the repair manuals are currently only available in France. After all, the French government has decided in 2021 that makers of smartphones, laptops and other types of electronic devices must show a reparability score, offer a repair manual and make spare parts available. This law will be expanded in 2024.
